10 Japanese Windows Mobile smartphone should come to Europe via Kickstarter




The Japanese manufacturer Nuans wants to market its NEO 10 smartphone with Windows Mobile in the US and Europe. To do that, the company has launched a Kickstarter campaign. The market price should be $ 400, but on Kickstarter requires Nuans $ 270.

The Nuans NEO features a 5 “screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The SOC is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617-octacore combined with 2GB of RAM. There’s 16GB of storage and can be expanded with a micro SD memory card. The phone supports Continuum has a USB type-c connector. the battery has a capacity of 3350mAh. on the back is a 13-megapixel camera with f / 2.0 lens and the front is a 5-megapixel sensor with f / 2.4- lens.

The device weighs 150 grams and is 11,3mm thick. The housing of the Nuans NEO is to match with covers of different materials, including wood. The European model will support LTE bands 1, 3, 7 and 20. This smartphone is compatible with 4G networks in the UK.

Nuans say they need 725,000 dollars for the international release. $ 270 thousand participants who contribute to the campaign can count in November 2016 a copy of the smartphone if everything goes according to plan. If these early bird options are on, there is an option to join for $ 325 to the project. Additional cases can be added for $ 30. On top of these prices come verses costs, import tax and 21 percent VAT. Ultimately the smartphone in the US must have a retail price of $ 400, calculated inclusive of VAT would amount to around 434 euros.

Tweakers reported for the first time on the Nuans NEO in October 2015. The smartphone has then been shown in Japan at an event where multiple brands demonstrated their 10 Windows Mobile smartphones for the Asian market. At CES earlier this year, the manufacturer announced the smartphone using Kickstarter to want to bring the US and Europe, the campaign has now been launched.
