2K start new game studio Hangar 13




2K Games has confirmed Thursday the arrival of a new studio. The new development studio named Hangar 13 and led by Haden Blackman, who in the past, including at LucasArts worked. Where the new studio is working on is still unknown.

Hangar 13 has just been established as 2K’s headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area, we are in the announcement reported. The development studio , according to the parent company to “a not-presented next gen ‘title work, though there probably mean 2K Games with a game for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and not for the next generation consoles. Studio writes its own engine for the new game. It is unclear when the first game Hanger 13 should come on the market.

The studio is led by Haden Blackman. He started his career at LucasArts Entertainment, where he held various positions in several Star Wars games. Then Blackman was the co-founder of Fearless Studios. That studio was acquired in 2012 by Kabam. He gives very little about the future price of Hangar 13.

In an interview with Polygon Blackman indicates, however, that at the moment the focus is on the form of the development team. The staff would have shipped hundreds of games together. The only thing that Blackman in the interview further reveal that the workforce is large enough to get done all the work possible, but at the same time is so small to know everyone by name.
