Today, people spend more time buried in their smartphones. Someone so talking, someone is killing time with toys , and someone draws information from the Internet. The agency Walker Sands Mobile once again decided to analyze what are the devices most commonly used to access the World Wide Web.

The time period covered by the study, covering the third quarter of this year. Mobile traffic for the period was 28 per cent of the total global Internet traffic. Thus, there has been a steady growth in this segment. Compared to the third quarter of 2012 the increase was 67 percent. And if you take into account in 2011, the figure here and that more impressive: an increase of 171 percent.

As the authors study, people are increasingly using their smartphones and tablets to access the Internet. In connection with this leading technology companies are encouraged to make greater emphasis is not on the increase in the performance of their devices, and to provide more comfort for users when working on the web.

In terms of specific numbers, they are as follows:

iPhone: 31,4% of mobile traffic (in the third quarter of 2012 – 30.7%)
iPad: 15,6% of mobile traffic (in the third quarter of 2012 – 19.7%)
Smartphones Android: 41,1% of mobile traffic (in the third quarter of 2012 – 42%)
Tablet Android: 3,4% of mobile traffic (in the third quarter of 2012 – 2%)

Thus, by simple mathematical calculations can be established that the share of other devices account for only 8.5 per cent.

It should also be noted that the combined share of iOS devices is 47 percent. This is 4 percent less than the same period in 2012. The share of Android-devices not reduced by more than half a percent.

Thus, despite a slight decrease in performance, iOS still holds the leading position in the field of mobile data traffic. Since a significant decrease was observed under the item “tablets” that are likely to enter the market after the iPad Air and Retina iPad mini to Apple once again be able to exceed the mark of 50 percent.
