Something extraordinary has happened last night: at 23:51 our time clock broke the Google servers together and all services, regardless of whether Google Maps, Gmail, or Web searches were not for two minutes to reach.
40 percent less Internet traffic: When Google went for two minutes the lights off * Update *

Every company and every person with a site on the net knows such downtime – if something happens but google, this is a great story. That you see, even if you look at the following graph:

google downtime 595×245 40 Prozent weniger Internet Traffic: Bei Google gingen für zwei Minuten die Lichter aus *Update*

By as much as 40 percent (!) Is the global Internet traffic plummeted within these two minutes. This of course says a lot about it from how much we all depend on the services of this giant and but can also well imagine how much coal therefore must represent a downtime for Google: For VentureBeat one has calculated (based on Google’s Annual Report) that the company earned exactly $ 108,000 per minute online. Means that until all services were running properly again in the five minutes has lost over half a million dollars!

Google itself does not explain exactly what’s been going on, but on the Apps Status Dashboard is confirmed that all services have failed, indicated in the graph by the red dot:

google serviceausfall 40 Prozent weniger Internet Traffic: Bei Google gingen für zwei Minuten die Lichter aus *Update*

Once Google expresses in detail on this story, I will update the article here. Until then remains only to note that Google had to complain again a total failure for the first time since 2009 and was found in the painful last night how much the whole internet world depends on the needle at Google.

Because of the lost money we need by the way have too much compassion, Go’d like to think that you could pay these few dollars out of petty cash – and it probably has been gathering after the failure alone with the Google search most of the losses: Finally, the world should have googled for what was going on.

Update:

Not the Internet traffic in general, but the value detected by GoSquared traffic of their customers has decreased. That could now reasonably cover in practice with what is happening with the traffic around the world, but certainly it does not have. For Germany’s major Internet exchange in Frankfurt , for example, there is only minimal declines recorded in the said period.

In addition, it must be noted that GoSquared has always recognized only the page views, which is just not synonymous with the traffic in the network. Like most other colleagues and co mirror so we are also a graphic went on glue, which does not reflect the real extent of the outage. While derstandard.at, the online world and co loudly Blog secretly have adapted their products, we prefer to write a corresponding update to inform you about the real property inventory. ( via )
