_Broadcom wants to buy more software companies

alongside CA Technologies
Singaporean chip maker Broadcom is reportedly planning to purchase more software companies than CA Technologies in the coming period. Broadcom implemented this strategy after a takeover of Qualcomm did not take place.

Broadcom wants to buy more companies such as CA Technologies and thus become a major player in the field of business software for, for example, mainframes and infrastructure, claims CNBC . All those companies must fall into the same division as CA, claims the American TV channel.

The Singaporean company would have started that strategy after the acquisition of Qualcomm could not take place. Qualcomm is just like Broadcom a chip company and is about to take over the Dutch NXP.

One of the indications that Broadcom does indeed concern software companies is the resignation of Ken Hao. Hao is also CEO at Silver Lake, an investment company that has several software companies in its portfolio. Broadcom could, among other things, be interested in companies such as BMC, says CNBC. Broadcom announced Thursday that it wants to buy CA Technologies for nearly nineteen billion dollars.
