_Microsoft wants to offer a Microsoft 365 subscription

for consumers
Microsoft seems to be working on Microsoft 365 Consumer, a consumer version of the subscription service for multiple Microsoft products. The offer would be in addition to the existing business packages.

Microsoft has put some vacancies online that mention the description M365 Consumer Subscription, says ZDNets Microsoft watcher Mary Jo Foley. The description shows that it is a new team within Microsoft that focuses on the new subscription form.

Currently there are Microsoft 365 subscriptions for companies, enterprises and education. The subscriptions include Windows 10, Office 365 and Enterprise Mobility + Security for security and management of Windows 10 and mobile devices. For companies the upgrade of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro is included.

It is not clear how Windows 10 would fit into the consumer subscription or how Microsoft 365 Consumer should distinguish itself from Office 365 Home. Most consumers get a Windows 10 license when they buy a laptop, for example.

In any case, ZDNet speculates that the consumer subscription of Microsoft 365 will consist of Windows 10, Office 365 Home, Skype, Cortana, Bing, Outlook Mobile and Microsoft To-Do. Microsoft did not respond to the rumor.
