Acer Aspire Switch 12 Review – A new type of convertible

In Summary
The Aspire Switch 12 has a good screen and smooth hardware for the relatively low price of just over six hundred euros. The new type of convertible offers great fexibility, because the device using five different positions is. Unfortunately, the quality of the keyboard is substandard and the trackpoint will not delight everyone. There you will get a lot of flexibility in return and in our opinion this is an important consideration to make in a possible purchase of this convertible.

Good screen

Convertibles in recent years in all shapes and sizes on Tweakers come over. Thanks to the ever smaller and more efficient hardware manufacturers, many sides to the shape of these devices. Meanwhile include convertibles with detachable , swiveling and foldable screens were reviewed, and it seemed that all possible combinations were pretty much built.

Acer Aspire Switch 12 That is not the case, Toshiba already proved at the Computex trade show in 2014. The Kirabook L93 , which was presented by the company there, can be described as a Windows tablet with a built-in stand and a detachable keyboard. In the Netherlands, we will have to do without Kirabooks but another manufacturer, Acer has come up with the Aspire Switch 12 on the same idea.

The keyboard of Acer Switch 12 is removable and can be used alone, but also be clipped to the convertible. The screen can stand upright, lie flat, or even be used at an acute angle, and of course the device ‘loose’ as a tablet. Options enough so, but we sit there waiting for? In other words, the unique case of the Aspire Switch 12 provides us additional flexibility, or is it just at the expense of ease of use?
