Acer Iconia B1-710: New edition in detailed brief test

The Acer Iconia B1-710 is the new edition of the current B1. Compared to its predecessor, much has happened, I can recommend the 7-inch tablet is not.

Acer Iconia B1-710 test
On the penultimate day of Computex, I finally found myself a little more time with the Acer Iconia B1-710 to deal thus with the new edition of the B1 already available since January. Initially I had quite high expectations for the new Iconia B1, since it, by design, the Iconia A1 is similar, which I think is a pretty good 7.9-inch tablet. Ultimately, I can not recommend the new Iconia B1-710, however.

By design, Acer has really improved a lot compared to its predecessor. The back is now less prone to scratches and the case feels high quality. It’s also nice that the Iconia B1-710 now has 1GB of RAM. Predecessor had only 512MB of RAM installed, which was simply too little, if you had multiple apps open. This, and the 1.2 GHz dual core processor from MediaTek performance with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is pretty good.

The only thing really on Acer Iconia B1-710 bother me and may no longer be the case for a tablet for 100 euros, is the lack of IPS display. Like its predecessor, the viewing angle of the Iconia B1-710 are pretty bad. Why? No idea, at least it creates also the Acer Iconia A1 to build in a decent display.

Soon there with the ASUS Memo Pad FHD 7 a much better alternative to the Acer Iconia B1-710. Here, the display is 7 inches tall, but has a 720p resolution and the FHD 7 has an IPS panel! In addition, the tablet plugged into a quad core processor and the processing can be seen.

Just about the Acer Iconia A1 to the price also is the Acer Iconia B1-710 I can not recommend – the same is true now of course for the predecessor.
