Acer Introduces 2-in-1 laptop with Core i7 and liquid cooling




Acer has announced the Switch Alpha 12: 2-in-1 combination of laptop and tablet that releases the company core processors of Skylake generation. Acer uses liquid cooling for quiet operation. In addition, the manufacturer comes with the Aspire S13 ultrabook.

Acer delivers the Switch Alpha 12’s with Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7’s without a fan is required thanks to the use of a vloeistofkoelysteem which the company calls Liquid Loop. Details on this system gives the company, but it would keep the temperature in the 0,95cm thick tablet stable and provide quiet operation. Including keyboard is convertible 1,58cm thick and the weight is 1.25 kg. The housing is made of aluminum and optional Acer provides a backlit keyboard along.

The Switch Alpha 12 has a 12 “screen with IPS panel and a 2160×1440 pixel resolution. Acer offers either a stylus supporting 256 pressure levels to which the two-in-one is prepared for the arrival of Windows Ink Workspace. to turn the screen upright is a standard that turn at an angle of up to 165 degrees.

The manufacturer supplies the model with SSD storage up to 512GB, which can be expanded via memory cards. The amount of RAM is 4 or 8GB LPDDR3. There is also a USB 3.0 and a USB-c connection available, and there is support for 2×2-wifi-ac and Bluetooth 4.0. The price is 899 euros if the Switch Alpha 12 in June becomes available.

Acer also announced the Aspire S13 during its product event in New York. This is a 13.3 “-ultrabook with an optional touchscreen and a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The S13 gets Core processors of Skylake generation and up to 8GB LPDDR3. In addition to a USB 3.0 port also this model has a USB c variant. the thickness 1,46cm, weight is 1.43 kg and the battery capacity is 54WH. in May, the Aspire S13 comes in white and black available for a starting price of 799 euros.
