ACM wants to map reliability online reviews

The Authority Consumer & Market plans to study online reviews. The organization wants to an indication of the reliability of reviews on the Internet, because it increasingly would play a role in purchases of consumers.

Fake Reviews ACM Questionnaires were sent on online reviews to advertisers, agencies, industry associations and consumer organizations, and review sites including Tweakers. The goal is to understand the importance of reviews on the Internet in the purchasing behavior of consumers. ACM believes it can play a role in this area, as in other countries has shown that consumers may be misled.

As an example, GCM calls the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, where consumers found that companies in the name of non-existent consumers left post fake online reviews. These studies also showed that consumers are increasingly using reviews on internet if they buy something.

The ACM will include participants in the questionnaire to know the advantages and disadvantages they see with the installation and use of online reviews, how to assess the reliability and what role can the ACM in this area.
