Administrators can remotely lock Chromebooks from now when users have lost or stolen laptops. That Google has announced. The laptop displays a text about how finders laptop can bring it back to its rightful owner.

The function is in the management tool for Chromebooks on admin.google.com, according to the explanation of the search giant. Administrators can disable it Chromebook, then the screen a red window displays with optional address of the rightful owner. The laptop is also no longer usable and displays at startup only the warning window.

The way to display the window works only for companies or institutions with Chromebooks. The functionality is not available to consumers. If and when the system is also available for home users is not yet known.
