Adobe next week to patch zero-day vulnerability in Flash




Adobe expects in the week of October 19th to roll out a patch to close the critical flaw in the latest version of Flash Player for Windows, Mac and Linux. According to Adobe the leak on a small scale aimed abused.

The company recognizes the Adobe Security Bulletin, the existence of the vulnerability in Flash Player and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh and Linux. The leak was discovered by Peter Pi Trend Micro and would be abused in Operation Pawn Storm, an attack by hackers which has targeted politicians and government agencies.

The exploit could let attackers crash systems and possibly take control over devices. When Adobe releases the patch is not exactly known. The software maker says it expects the update during the week of October 19 is ready.
