AI-MATHS Robot fails to prove that it is better than its human competitor

AI-MATHS robot participated last week in the national university exam in China with nearly 10 million high school students. The 11-server robot needed three years of development to reach this stage and was able to finish the exam by far For the time allotted for the two-hour test.

On June 7, robot managed to complete independent mathematics tests of the National College examinations in China without access to the Internet or any of the test banks. The robot was trained to handle more than 10,000 math questions.

The device ended the first test for students in 22 minutes with a score of 105 out of 150, and took another 10 minutes to finish the second national test and achieved 100 degrees, where the degree of success 90, which is well below the average of 135 degrees for the two tests.

The AI-MATHS robot, designed by a company in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, as part of a project by the Ministry of Science and Technology, needs to improve its ability to understand the natural language to achieve a better degree in the gaokao exam, the national university entrance exam.

In response to a problem with the test, Lin Hui, chief executive officer of Zhunxingyunxue Technologies, the developer of the robot, said the device had a problem understanding the natural language because the problem was an unusual description and he hoped next year that the robot would improve its performance in The logical conclusion and computer algorithms.

The mathematics teacher, who reviewed the robot’s answers in the national test, said he lost the marks because of problems with complex descriptions. This means that the main difficulty remains in understanding. The teacher added, “He must first understand Chinese well” in order to improve mathematics.

Although the device has failed to achieve the end result target of 110, but the research team is still proud of that achievement, Hu Guoping, president of iFLYTEK Research Institute said that the device represents the first attempt of any kind for any robot to complete the test papers automatically without access to the Internet and test banks.
