Amazon become target of the German Environmental Aid
The German Environmental Aid (DUH) is quite controversial when one remembers the whole thing about the Diesel Particulate Filter: The DUH sat very vehemently for a mandatory one, but had previously raised more than 100,000 euros of particle filter manufacturers. Overall, however, the DUH achieved much good and is committed to environmental protection and also consumers. Now it has taken Amazon targeted: Man throws the online giants before the legal obligation of electrical appliances to disregard. Accordingly, the DUH Amazon has warned and now calls for a cease and desist letter.
So DUH have several customers received complaints according to which Amazon had refused to dispose of defective small electrical appliances. Since July 24, 2016 companies from a certain load / storage area (400 square meters), however, obliged – including Amazon. The return option is not tied to the purchase of a new device. Also it is not necessary that the old unit was purchased by the retailer from which it is returned.
The equipment must be only less than 25 cm and may be delivered or posted only in small amounts. Because Amazon does not judge according to the law, the online retailer should now sign a penalty clause declaration according DUH. Since many other distributors would act similarly, DUH also calls for the Federal Environment Agency the implementation of rollback obligations of WEEE commercially controlling more and will punish violations directly.
A reaction Amazon is currently pending. It will be interesting how the dealer responds and whether it may actually come yet to litigation.Viewing:-130
