AMD is working on video card ‘Vesuvius’ with two Hawaiian GPUs

AMD would work on a new video card with two Hawaii XT GPUs on a single PCB. The card would carry the codename Vesuvius and the Radeon HD 7990 to be followed as the most expensive and fastest card with two GPUs.

AMD has late October its first cards with new Hawaii-GPUs released , the fastest Radeon R9 290x with Hawaii XT GPU is. The company, however, has a more powerful model with two Hawaii XT chips in development, claims VR-Zone. If this is indeed the case, then get the card provided with 5632 stream processors, 352 tmu’s, 128 rop and, possibly, 8GB of GDDR5 memory.

The card would carry the codename Vesuvius and the Radeon HD 7990, codenamed Malta, follow. That card with two Tahiti XT GPUs was early this year unveiled . When Vesuvius to appear is still unknown, but according to VR-Zone is the development is still at an early stage, making it likely will take months before the release takes place.
