AMD launches FirePro W4300 GPU workstations




AMD has announced a new FirePro GPU workstations. The W4300 is what specifications terms almost identical to the existing W5100, but it is a smaller and more economical low profile implementation.

AMD FirePro W4300 According to AMD, the FirePro W4300 especially suitable for use with CAD software. Because it is a low profile card terms, you can choose a small form factor housing. The graphics card uses the GCN 1.1 architecture and features 768 stream processors, 4GB of GDDR5 memory and a 128bit memory bus; good for a memory bandwidth of 96GB / s. There are four mini-DisplayPort 1.2a connections present, where screens with a resolution of up to 4096×2160 pixels can be connected.

As far as specifications and performance, the new map largely consistent with the FirePro W5100, which AMD in 2014 introduced. However, this is a larger full-size -pcie card. Moreover, the new W4300 is more economical: According to AMD, the card needs about 50 watts, the W5100 is 75 watts. The card is currently in production and the manufacturer expects that OEMs will use the GPU in 2016 in their systems. A suggested retail price was not disclosed.
