AMD’s Beema and Mullins: economy trumps
The U.S. chip maker AMD has released his successors most energy efficient chip generations for mobile applications. This new accellerated processing units, known as APUs, should not be so much faster, but are more efficient than the current generation.
The new fuel-efficient APU’s, listening to the codenames Beema and Mullins, were initially developed for cheap laptops and netbooks, but thanks to ever lower TDP and they can also be used in fanless platforms like tablets. In addition, the APU’s useful not only in mobile devices, but also in budget desktops, the AMD products more often.
With the successors of the current platform AMD has new processor cores at its disposal, mainly to lead. Economical systems to AMD has added a number of features which we have briefly pass in review.
