Android 5.0 for Android Wear get software to analyze battery usage

There is an extensive preview appeared online, in which a site publishes images and discusses features of the Android 5.0 update for Android Wear, Google’s operating system for smart watches. It is including software to monitor battery usage.

The software works in the companion app on an Android phone and it can show which apps include demand the most from the battery on the watch, writes the Android fansite Phandroid. Although Android 5.0 for smartphones and tablets, all software is converted to Google’s new design philosophy Material Design, which does not apply to Wear: that looks largely the same.

Moreover, the companion app to modify watch faces on the watch. On the watch itself, it will be possible to change brightness from the shortcut menu, which is accessed from the home screen by swiping from the top of the screen down. That should prevent people for example if they have to come out with all kinds of menus around to turn the brightness higher: not all Android Wear watches have a light sensor to automatically adjust the brightness.

When the update will appear is unknown. It is expected that Google’s Android 5.0 update for its Nexus devices Wednesday will spread, but Google has released the update for Android Wear yet announced.
