It is not about Android Auto, but an Android based operating system with a custom interface, reports Polestar . Google services are part of the software, including Google Maps, Assistant and the Play Store. The intention is that the software will receive regular updates and upgrades for years. Polestar does not mention how the security of the software works.

Polestar has put a progressive web app online , allowing users to click through a demo of the interface on a smartphone or tablet. The interface consists of four tabs, with on the first tab a picture of the car itself that has not appeared before. The second tab is for apps, the third for contacts and the fourth for controls in the car. There is also a notification bar with shortcuts, toggles and notifications.

The Swedish Volvo subsidiary is slowly releasing more information about his next car. The manufacturer also announces that it will be possible to unlock the car with the smartphone, as the Tesla Model 3 can. Polestar seems to be competing with his car for the latest Tesla. The Swedish company will announce more about the car in the coming weeks, which will have to go into production later this year.
