The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has published statistics on the state of the market for mobile services in China . At the end of October 2012 in China has 1.095 billion mobile phone users, which is 0.98 percent more than the previous month. When compared with the figure for the same period last year, an increase of 13.63 per cent. However, only 212.42 million people, or 19.39% of total subscribers use networks 3G.

The share of mobile phone users in the Chinese population is 80.6 percent. In comparison, fixed phones owned 280.34 million Chinese (21 per cent of the population). According to the ministry, for the people of China in October was sent 71.83 billion text messages – 2.13 posts per day with one phone number.

Fewer Chinese are so-called feature phones (featurephone). They are gradually replacing smartphones. In III quarter of this year, China sold 49.17 million smartphones, which is 121 percent more than last year.

According to research firm Analysys International, in the third quarter of the Chinese market by 90.1 per cent consisted of Android-smartphones. The share of iOS and Symbian had, respectively, 4.2 and 2.4 percent of the market. The average cost of a smartphone based on Android – 1,393 yuan (223.67 U.S. dollars).
