Android phones can display Skype video call picture-in-picture

Users of Skype for Android phones can minimize a video call with an update and through picture-in-picture another app or game continue to run. On Android tablets it works for almost a year.

The update for the Android version of Skype came out Tuesday and Engadget noted in the changelog that the possibility of running another app now works on phones. The function is intended to continue using the device during a video call for other things, such as provided through another chat program with a third party that is not in the video call.

The picture-in-picture function, which is called in Dutch “floating screen” is almost a year in the version for Android tablets, but Skype did he not added to the version for phones. Users can invoke the function during a video call Skype simply leave without terminating the call.
