Microsoft plans to become a virtual operator. The company has not yet spoken openly about the new service, but the description of the app reveals what Microsoft plans. The company will make its own SIM card.

The app Cellular Data mentions that it works only on the PC, which it seems that the service is designed for desktops, laptops and tablets and not for smartphones. The application required by the definition a “Microsoft Sim Card ‘.

If the SIM card in the device, according to Microsoft shows a Wi-Fi network in the list of Wi-Fi networks with the name Cellular Data, and then click through to get users into an interface through which the company offers mobile data.

It is unknown whether the service will also operate in the Benelux. “The service is available in certain markets, and the deals are only for domestic subscriptions. Offers for international roaming are coming soon,” Microsoft said in the description.

The purchase of data presumably proceeds via a Microsoft account, notes The Verge on. It is unknown when Microsoft rates and terms of service publishes.
