Apple banned developers from the Crimea to create applications for iPhone and iPad




Apple has blocked users in the Crimea access to the portal for developers, informs the user “Habrahabr” under the name KaMaToZzz. Thus, on the peninsula can no longer be formally develop games and applications for iPhone, iPad or Mac.


The fact that US companies will not be able to provide their services in the Crimea, it was revealed on December 19 , when President Barack Obama signed the relevant decree. The embargo also applies to the IT-sector: Internet services, software and more. The sanctions prohibit the export of goods to the Crimea, technologies and products from the United States.

Apple in the comments to the developer referred to sanction rates from 18-19 December 2014:

This letter is a notice of immediate termination of the agreement Registered Apple Developer Agreement (the «RAD Agreement») between you and Apple.

According to the rules of the agreement for developers, Apple may at any time take you a registered developer. New sanctions to the territory of Crimea, the US government announced December 19, 2014 and the European Commission 18 December 2014, do not provide the possibility of concluding such a treaty between you and Apple. To find out all the details, refer to the application of Executive Order 13685.

We want to remind about your obligations with respect to software and other confidential information that you received from Apple, being a registered developer of Apple. You must immediately cease any use of these materials and comply with other conditions laid down in RAD Agreement ».

At the end of December last year, US multinationals Visa and Mastercard have released an official statement about their services disconnected from Russian banks operating in the Crimea. In a statement, Visa said that sanctions would “prohibit companies from Visa International Service Association, Visa USA Inc. and Visa Inc. to provide services, as well as directly or indirectly facilitate transactions in the Crimea. ” The company also stopped MasterCard services for cards issued in the peninsula, saying the decision was made because of US sanctions.
