Apple doubles maximum app size to 4GB
Apple has doubled the size limit of apps in the App Store from 2 to 4GB. The broadening can especially game developers release games that require more storage on an iOS device.
Since 2008, the maximum size of an app in the App Store was limited to 2GB. Apple has this limit for so-called binaries in the App Store doubled to 4GB, so the company has to let developers know . For downloads over mobile networks continues to limit 100MB so bulky apps or games to be downloaded via a WiFi connection.
The expansion is good news especially for game developers. Some developers used a mechanism to load bulky levels in the background while playing, but not every developer has this capability. Google operates on Android already longer a limit of 4GB for Android games and apps.Viewing:-188
