Apple has exchanged the Samsung for TSMC

This is interesting

According to the Taiwanese media, Apple and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. signed a three-year agreement, under which the company will supply the American manufacturer A-series processors for future models of the iPhone and iPad.

Rumors about the prospect of signing this document went a long time, and now not only publication DigiTimes reported that the event took place, but also share some of the specific terms of the contract. In particular, TSMC and its partner Global UniChip plan to deliver a new generation of chips, based on the 20 -, 16 – and 10-nm process.

The publication reports that in July of this year, TSMC will start test production of 20-nanometer chips A8, and by September, the volume of their production will be significantly increased. It is expected that this device based on the processor will be on the market in 2014.

This can be seen as another step in the direction of the Apple partnership with Samsung, relations with which it has recently become worse and worse . Recall that it was a South Korean competitor participated in the development and production of all processors of the A, available at the moment.
