Find a Question:
Apple is considering turning your iPhone into a touchpad for your MacBook
Apple’s demand for a new patent for an electronic accessories device showed that the company had the idea of creating a platform to embrace electronic devices in the style of a laptop capable of containing its smart electronic devices such as iPhones and iPads.
This came after the US Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday published the application filed on September 20, 2016 for a patent by the Cupertino-based company for what is described as an electronic device.
The attached images of the patent application enclose the assumed platform of the iPhone phone in the presence of the tracking panel so that all computing operations are conducted through an iPhone phone and the laptop is a deaf terminal device.
While other images show a less bizarre idea of embracing the platform for the iPad tablet, which takes the place of the display for the MacBook laptop, a fairly acceptable idea that there are many covers equipped with an iPad keyboard to look like an integrated laptop.
The traditional idea, which could give extraordinary results of transforming a smartphone into a laptop, was already experimented with, but it was a limited success. Motorola was the first company to attempt this idea through the Atrix 4G device unveiled at the Electronics Show Consumer CES 2011.
HP later reintroduced the idea through the Elite X3 Lapdock platform, where the company did not produce large quantities of this platform because it is dedicated only to the phone Elite x3 and very expensive.
The most important part of the failures of this idea is that the way people use smart phones is fundamentally different from how they use laptops, especially portable Apple devices.
People tend to update their smartphones regularly by replacing them every year or two, while laptops have a much longer life. It should be remembered that a patent does not always mean that the company may look at those ideas seriously.Viewing:-70
