Bloomberg: Apple is testing iPhones for release this year with usb-c port
Apple would test iPhones for release in 2019 with a USB port instead of Lightning. It is still unknown whether Apple this year already Lightning for usb-c, but the company would in any case want to transfer iPhones to usb-c.

Apple released the first iOS devices with USB-c at the end of last year with the iPad Pro models. Changing the port makes iPhones compatible with many more chargers than now, writes Bloomberg on the basis of anonymous sources. One of the authors, Mark Gurman, is known for his reliable information about unannounced Apple products and services.

The upcoming iPhones, with code names D82 and D83, would have the same design as the current XS and XS Max. There will also be a successor to the XR without a new design. The new iPhones have a next version of 3D face scanner Face ID. What the improvements are, is unknown.

The successor of the XS Max has three cameras on the back, with the other versions that is still unclear. The third camera is, according to the description, equipped with a wide-angle lens, with which users can take a larger picture angle into view. A 3D rear camera with a time-or-flight sensor, Apple would keep for the 2020 iPhones. There are already Android phones with the 3D camera, including the 2017 Asus Zenfone AR , Oppo RX17 Pro from 2018 and the Huawei Honor View 20 this year.

Apple would also prepare the release of an iPad Pro in 2020 with the 3D camera. A new, cheaper iPad comes according to Bloomberg this spring. In addition, Apple is working on iOS 13 with a new homescreen. It would be the first major change to the homescreen for iPads since its release. There will also be a dark mode in iOS 13, claims the financial news agency.

There have been rumors about the coming iPhones and iPads for some time. For example , renders recently showed how an iPhone with three cameras can look like. The American business newspaper WSJ revealed that the successor to the XR will be the last iPhone with LCD.
