Apple is planning to design its core power management chips for use in iPhone handsets early in 2018, according to a new report in the Nikkei business newspaper on Thursday, citing informed sources. Of its dependence on the British semiconductor manufacturer Dialog Semiconductor.

According to the Nikkei report, the source said that based on Apple’s current plan, it is expected to partially solve chips or nearly half of its power management chips within its iPhone handsets starting next year, and this step if confirmed to reduce the adoption of the company Apple is on the British power management chip maker, which is trying to diversify its customer base from smart phone makers.

The maker of iPhone phones said in April that it plans to replace its main supplier of graphics chips Imagination Technologies, which contributed to a decline in shares of the British company by 70 percent in one session on the London Stock Exchange and sold in two separate deals.

Over the past 10 years, the US technology giant has scoured many small chip vendors, forcing them to merge with larger competitors. The talk of the sale came in April after Bankhaus Lampe, a German analyst for Carsten, advised investors to sell Dialog shares because Apple was working on its own power-saving chip to replace the Dialog chip.

Another source pointed to the possibility of delaying the use of the Apple chip to manage energy until 2019, according to sources in the industry, Taiwan’s TSMC semiconductor manufacturing company will manufacture chips designed by Apple, TSMC is the largest contract maker in the world, and was Apple is the only supplier of processor chips for iPhone phones until 2016.

TSMC is also manufacturing Dialog Semiconductor’s power management chips. Dialog Semiconductor has lost 36 percent of its value since April, reducing its market value to $ 3.27 billion. Analysts say Dialog has more than Half of Apple’s revenue, two years ago, had three-quarters of revenue as Apple’s sole supplier of energy management chips.
