Find a Question:
Apple removed from iOS 7 GM iCloud Keychain
Along with the new iPhone Apple on Tuesday announced the official release date of iOS 7 and released the Golden Master version for developers, which will become final. However, users still complain of minor bugs, and some of the features Apple, it seems, and all decided to move on then. One possibility was the “Keychain Access” or iCloud Keychain.
In iOS 7 GM corporation removed this feature, although it was available in previous betas, writes Mac Rumors. In addition, Apple has changed the description of the “Keychain” on its website. Now about her name emblazoned painfully familiar to us the inscription «Coming soon».
Does this mean that iCloud Keychain see the light with the final iOS 7? Probably. And Apple is quite adequate reasons to explain her behavior.
It is likely the company’s engineers are refining “Keychain Access” for it to work correctly with a fingerprint reader in the iPhone 5S. In a video posted on the website Apple, Touch ID is used not only to unlock the smartphone, but also to make purchases in the App Store instead of the usual password. So from Apple it would be logical to provide access to the “Keychain” by fingerprints.
iCloud Keychain allows you to store all your passwords and credit card directly into Safari and conveniently synchronize them between iOS-devices and your Mac. All data is stored in the “cloud” service Apple is encrypted to prevent access to confidential information from third parties. Nevertheless store the fingerprints of its users to iCloud in Cupertino did not dare.
Another reason – Apple may wait for OS X Mavericks , with which this function will work. At the WWDC conference in June this year by Craig Federighi demonstrated all the “Keychain” is in Safari on the Mavericks. It was expected that the system will be released on September 10, but later became aware of the serious delays .
I do not think that the output of iCloud Keychain greatly affect the income of applications such as 1Password – for a long time, buyers have kept it for hundreds of passwords. And it is hardly active users of the program will want to re-move their data to another service.
The final version of iOS 7 will be available for download on September 18.Viewing:-116
