Apple sells record number of 74.5 million iPhones




Apple has in recent months thanks to the release of the larger iPhone 6 and 6 Plus record sales of its smartphones. Sales of Macs also are on the rise, but iPads decreased by 18 percent. Sales of Apple Watch starts in April.

The number of iPhones sold came out at 74.5 million, of which Apple sold in the last months of 2013 to 51 million smartphones: an increase of 46 percent. They were also significantly more than the 39.2 million iPhones Apple sold in the previous quarter. Sales of electronics are often higher in the last quarter, because it covered the holidays when many people, especially Americans, buying new electronics.

Sales of iPads decreased from 26 million in the quarter last year to 21.3 million this year, down 18 percent. The entire tablet market has to deal with a drop in demand, because many people already have a tablet and not inclined to be replaced after a few years. Apple also seems to suffer from that fall.

With sales of Macs is already longer and that increase is put through. Where Apple in the quarter last year 4.84 million managed to put away, there were 5.52 million in the quarter, a rise of just over 14 percent.

Apple posted in the last quarter of 2014 revenue of $ 74.6 billion, while earnings totaled $ 18 billion. Thus, the sales and profits increased by 29.5 and 37.4 percent respectively. Sales in China increased by nearly 70 percent to $ 16.14 billion; turnover approaching that of Europe, which amounted to $ 17.21 billion.

Furthermore, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that Apple Watch goes on sale in April, but it is unclear whether the Netherlands and Belgium in the first countries belonging introduction.
