Apple Watch Review – Expensive gadget for the real Apple fan

Apple Watch is an ambitious product with many features. Like many other smart watches, he can pass alerts to the phone and it is also possible to run apps. Furthermore, it is a capable fitness tracker, thanks to the effective heart rate monitor. The finish is of a high standard and the screen looks nice, though it’s annoying that it does not permanently switched on. The interface is sometimes a little unclear in use and while Apple’s own apps communicate with the watch, the support for other popular apps should like WhatsApp, yet to start. Combined with the hefty price, especially for the nicer models, makes the watch currently only interesting for the real gadget and Apple fan. The rest will do well to still wait until the software is improved, the developers have come up steam and cheaper accessories are available.

Smart Watches seem not to really hit the general public. Pebble although a large number have been able to put away, and companies like Samsung, LG, Sony and Asus sell them, see you in the streets, few people with a smart watch to the wrist. That is not surprising; they are reasonable in price, as beautiful as a real watch, they have not, and particularly in terms of functionality, they have yet to prove themselves. While many people nowadays do without phone out the door like that goes for the smart watch certainly not yet.

Apple now thinks he has made a smart watch that can bring in that change: Apple Watch. From the unveiling in September last year, the company blows very high tower on the Watch. It would be the most “personal device” ever, with finishes and materials as you would expect from a luxury watch. The pricing is accordingly, with a starting price of 349 euros, straps that cost several hundred euros and a special gold version, which goes on the counter for more than 10,000 euros.

Apple Watch at the time of writing not for sale in the Netherlands, which probably lasts a few weeks, but we managed to get through via two models from France. It involves both the large and the small model of the Apple Watch Sport, which cost respectively 399 and 449 euros. In the past week the Watch has barely left our pulse and we used him for reading text messages and emails, we turned apps, we went sports, and sometimes we watched how it is.

How well Apple Watch is in it and whether he really knows what to add over existing smart watches read in this review.

Update, 07:59: In the text, and video rates of 349 and 399 euros respectively, were named for the 38mm and 42mm model. That is not correct; they cost 399 and 449 euros. The article has been adjusted accordingly.
