Apple will launch its own payment system
According to the newspaper The Wall Street Journal, Apple is taking active steps to create an extended mobile payment service that will compete with such payment systems like PayPal , Google Wallet and Square. The new system, which uses data on credit and debit cards linked to accounts on iTunes, allow for payments for the products in the stores of other companies. For use of the service, Apple may charge an additional fee in the form of a small percentage of each transaction.
New payment service, is likely to be working in conjunction with the system iBeacon, delivering information about products and promotions in retail stores near iOS-device owners. Data transmission occurs via Bluetooth 4.0.
According to the source WSJ, Cupertino-based company already generates a command that will payment system. Vice president of Apple’s iTunes and parts App Store Eddy Cue recently held a series of meetings with industry leaders to discuss the possibility of launching the new system. In addition, sources in Apple reported that Jennifer Bailey, who previously headed the company’s online stores, was transferred to a new position, and now will the development direction.
Obviously, the potential use of existing client base iTunes is great. Last year, the number of registered users of iTunes, many of which are owned by the iPhone and iPad, has exceeded half a billion.
