Archos brings out tablet with 21.5 “screen

for interactive board games
Archos has announced the Play Tab, an Android tablet with a 21.5 “screen that is intended, among other things, to lay flat on the table and then be able to play digital board games together.

The tablet combines a full HD resolution and a 6 mm thick layer of reinforced glass with an unspecified system-on-a-chip with eight cores. Furthermore, there is 3GB of ram and 32GB of storage. The press release mentions a battery capacity of 5000mAh, but on the product page Archos mentions a battery capacity of 10,000mAh.

Archos does not mention any further hardware specifications at the time of writing. The tablet runs Android 9.0 Pie with a specially adapted interface for games. The tablet thus offers quick access to installed games. Archos points out that games such as Carcassonne, Monopoly, Scrabble and Settlers of Catan can be played.

The Play Tab will be available in Europe this summer for 249 euros. Earlier, Sony, with the Vaio Tap 20 , and Lenovo, with the A720 , came with large tablets where they emphasized the possibilities with board games.
