Artists and eccentrics create the most popular works of art

British scientists are incredibly famous “useful” for humanity studies in various fields, published their findings in the field of art, depending on the popularity of their website behavior. The results were more than amusing.

According to a study published in the “European Journal of Social Psychology,” it turns out that most people appreciate the works of the most eccentric artists not of this world. Scientists have named this phenomenon “the effect of eccentricity.”

Researchers have even proven theory with experiments. During the first experiment two groups has been demonstrated in experimental painting “Sunflowers” by Vincent van Gogh, and shortly before they were told about how the artist once cut off his ear. The second group did not tell. As you can imagine, on a more positive picture of the artist responded precisely the group that was aware of his eccentricity.

Three subsequent experiments were conducted using paintings by unknown artists, and the results were very similar. Those subjects who had previously talked about the eccentricities of the artist, his work was assessed much higher, as, indeed, and those which had previously shown a photo of the artist with disheveled hair and ridiculous expression.

During the final experiment, subjects were shown various pictures famous musical performer Lady Gaga. Those who showed the photo of the singer in a very modest casual dress, spoke about her music in neutral colors. Those who saw her picture in the most extravagant costumes and cause, actively began to admire her work. A third group of participants, which was first shown pictures celebrities in unusual costumes, and then reported that many experts believe that the singer is simply powered by the public and in such an unusual image disappears completely normal person again, abruptly lost interest in her musical merit.

Scientists, of course, specify that in their work they examined only “unconventional art”, and the main conclusion of the scientific experiments is the presence of unconditional relationship between the product and the behavior of its author. Thousands of modern eccentric artists that just do not get up to these days, just to please the public and sell their art, as dearly as possible. Here’s how the situation is: do what you like, but do not nail to the pavement.

Of course, the findings of British scientists clearly explain the wildly popular works of Salvador Dali and the same Vincent Van Gogh – these artists were so strange that just fell in love with all the artistic community.
