Asetek wins patent battle over water coolers from Cooler Master

Asetek has a patent lawsuit won by CMI, part of Cooler Master. The District Court of California finds that CMI had breached Aseteks patents for water cooling technology and laid a compensation and a sales ban on.

The court thus confirmed an earlier ruling by the end of 2014 and puts heavier progress. CMI must pay compensation of 25.375 per cent of the turnover from January 1st, 2015 with the products that infringe patents Aseteks. In the earlier verdict was still 14.5 percent. In addition, a ban on sale in the US imposed on those products.

The District Court rejected the demands of CMI. The case was filed in 2013 and relate to infringe on the patents 8245764 and 8240362 in the United States. These describe technology for a maintenance-free system, in which a pump and a radiator are included. Specifically, would Cooler Master’s all-in-one water coolers in making the Seidon line infringe on the patents of Asetek. CMI USA Inc. is the US subsidiary of Cooler Master. The company can challenge the verdict.
