ASRock brings reversible USB 3.1 connector to Z97- and X99 motherboards

ASRock has the Z97 Extreme6 / 3.1 and the X99 Extreme6 / 3.1 announced. The manufacturer shall compile existing Z97- and X99 boards in Extreme 6 series with expansion cards that come with USB 3.1 interfaces. The X99 motherboard immediately receive a reversible Type C connector.

ASRock Z97 delivers Extreme6 / 3.1 with a PCI-E card that has a single USB 3.1 port Type A and Type C 3.1 interface features. Type A is the connector as the current regular USB 3.0 ports that have, but Type C is the smaller, reversible connector. The manufacturer combines the X99 Extreme6 / 3.1 with a PCI-E card with two USB 3.1 ports and Type A standard this board already includes a Type C connector.

The theoretical transfer speed to USB 3.1 versus USB 3.0 doubled from 5 to 10Gbit / s. When the PCI-E cards from ASRock both ports should be given the maximum bandwidth of PCI-E 2.0 x2, 10Gbit / s components. To the higher speed to use connectors and cables are better now than necessary and it is waiting for devices that support USB 3.1.

The combination will ASRock fast USB 3.1 ports bring his motherboards without signs too much to do to adjust. In late March brings MSI motherboards are equipped with native USB 3.1 ports. It is unclear when exactly ASRock will release the relevant motherboards and what they will cost.
