ASRock: the sale of Phantom Gaming gpu’s from AMD can not take place in EU

A representative from ASRock has informed the German version of Tom’s Hardware that the company is not allowed to sell its recently announced Phantom Gaming gpu’s from AMD in the EU. The reason for this is unclear.

The site writes that after the publication of a review of the Radeon RX 580 Phantom Gaming-gpu, ASRock contacted the question where Tom’s Hardware had the card. Sales in the EU would not be planned at all. The site quotes the ASRock representative: “My problem is that AMD has not agreed that we sell the cards in the EU, which is a shame.”

From the message from the German site it is not clear whether an explanation has been requested, so the reasons for AMD are still unclear. ASRock introduced its first gpu’s in the Phantom Gaming line at the end of last month, with maps with gpu’s from AMD’s Radeon RX 500 series. On his own site , for example, ASRock writes with the RX 580 8G OC that ‘this model may not be sold worldwide’.
