Asus launches new version G501 Laptop

Asus has its Republic of Gamers laptop G501 given some hardware upgrades. G501VW The new version of the laptop features a Skylake processor and the memory is changed from DDR3 to DDR4-2133MHz.

The new version has been given number G501VW and it seems old-model G501JW completely replaced. The G501VW features an Intel Core i7-6700HQ in place of the old i7-4720HQ and working memory has changed from up to 16GB DDR3 in a maximum of 16GB DDR4. Furthermore, there is in the laptop HM170 an Intel chipset and there is a choice of Nvidia GeForce GTX 960m with 2GB or 4GB. Asus announced that the Netherlands will be only the top model available, so the Dutch and Belgian version will come with a 960m 4GB and 16GB DDR4.

The G501VW is delivered in the Netherlands with a 1TB hard drive and 512GB SSD. The 15.6 “screen has the resolution of 1920×1080 or 3840×2160, but only the uhd version is available here. In addition, there are on the laptop three USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C port, a Thunderbolt connector and an HDMI port. The system has the option for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Home Pro operating system.

The Netherlands and Belgium available top-of-the ROG G501VW series is expected around late January or early February and will retail with 1899 euros.
