Asus shows ROG Matrix video card with built-in aio-water cooler

Asus unveiled a Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti video card with an all-in-water cooler during the CES. The ROG Matrix video card, including the pump and radiator, takes up three slots and can thus be placed in relatively modest housings.

According to Asus, the card in the Matrix series of high-end products makes its work cooler and quieter than air-cooled cards, without taking up more space. The manufacturer calls the cooling Infinity Loop and has designed an extra large heatspreader for covering the gpu and video memory.

In addition, Asus had to reduce the pump so that it fitted into the housing. Furthermore, three fans are present, which supply cool air and cool the VRMs. The fans will not start until the gpu temperature rises above 55 degrees Celsius, to ensure quiet operation during regular use.

Cooling and binning enable the GPU to operate in OC mode at a Boost core clock speed of 1815MHz and in Gaming mode at 1800MHz. With the regular RTX 2080 Ti that is 1545MHz or 1635MHz with the Founders Edition.

Later in the first quarter of 2019, the ROG Matrix RTX 2080 Ti has to come on the market for an as yet unknown price.
