Asus Zenbook Pro Review – Strong premium for mediocre screen

The Asus Zenbook Pro is an expensive laptop with fast hardware and a 4k screen. Thanks to the GTX 960m graphics card, the laptop is also suitable for gaming and the battery life is six hours fine for a quick 15.6 “notebook with uhd resolution. Unfortunately fall construction quality of housing and the quality of the screen against. Both color reproduction, contrast and brightness are substandard and the screen has suffered from mirages. From a laptop that should yield 1,700 euros we simply expect better.

Fast hardware
Relatively good battery life
Poor picture quality

With Asus Zenbooks building already for some time highend ultrabooks, which in different versions, among others compete with the Apple MacBook. The Zenbook lineup also consists of many different types; the bright, seven hundred euro costing UX305, the fifteen hundred euro costing UX301. But despite all these different versions lacked a 15 “-topmodel. A laptop can be equipped with a larger body of a faster processor and a dedicated video card. In short, a laptop that can compete with rivals like the 15.4” Apple MacBook Pro, the Dell Precision M3800 and the Lenovo ThinkPad W541.

Actually, Asus laptop already with the NX500. The NX500 we first arrived at Computex in 2014. When we were quite impressed with Asus’ new top model. Not only had the laptop excellent specifications, but Asus had chosen a 4k screen with quantum dots, which would provide a color space that is wider than the standard sRGB spectrum and even bigger than AdobeRGB. Unfortunately, the NX500 was never officially introduced in the Netherlands, but recently the successor is come widely available. The name of this new laptop has become Zenbook UX501 Pro.
