Find a Question:
Attackers break into servers forum software phpBB
The servers of the popular forum software phpBB hacked last weekend. That made the development of the software known. It is not yet clear exactly what attackers captured.
That writes the phpBB team on his website. “We immediately brought our network offline for research, while the attack was still going on,” as it says. For now it is not known who is behind the attack and what is the motive.
The team advises anyone who has registered on the site of phpBB to take action. For example, anyone using the password www.phpbb.com area51.phpbb.com or on other sites, does well to that change there. The cause of the hack is not known, but he found according to the development team emphatically not the forum software itself, which means that installations on other servers are not vulnerable.
The phpBB team says to come the next time with more information. “We will build our systems from the ground up and will check the integrity of all data before we put online. This process will probably take a few days.”
PhpBB is popular forum software used by communities worldwide. Long suffered the software with a bad reputation in the field of security. That was partly due to malware, making numerous websites with the software were gedefaced. Today, the software would be safer, claim the developers. The latest version, 3.1.2, dated last month.Viewing:-499
