The money raised is donated by online game enthusiasts to watch the speed runs performed by the participants of AGDQ.

Speedruns be performed in both old and new games. So were classics like Super Mario 64 and Diablo past, but also newer games like Fez and Spelunky. During the week, regular attendance of 100,000 achieved. The peak was when watching a session in Super Mario Maker, which attracted 220 000 viewers. The organization conducts twice a year event. In summer there is the Summer Games Done Quick, again money is raised for charity. The next edition will be from 3 to 9 July, in Minneapolis. The speed runs of the last Games Done Quick have to look back through the YouTube channel of the organization.
