Base reaches speeds of 250Mbit / s to test with LTE-advanced




The Belgian telecom provider has announced that the base rates of 250Mbit / s in tests has reached the advanced network technology LTE. The company did not disclose when such rates are available for consumers.

According Base are the tests performed in Hasselt and it is the first time that a Belgian telecom provider’s LTE-advanced-technology test. In theory, does the telco to deliver speeds of 300Mbit / s though it remained in the tests stabbing at 250Mbit / s. For the testing equipment was supplied by Chinese manufacturer ZTE, which also supplies the equipment required for 4G network Base.

It is not yet clear when Base think you are done with the tests and the technology will offer to consumers. To Well let base know that the existing 4G network is now available in more than 400 Belgian cities, counties and districts. In addition, approximately 4 million people coverage.

In the Netherlands, several providers announced to start testing with the successor of LTE. KPN will test this year with LTE advanced and Vodafone announced tests. In Germany, Vodafone has already tested last year with LTE-advanced. When LTE becomes available for advanced Dutch is also not yet known.
