Battery manufacturers are to pay 166 million euros in fines

Eu commission The European Commission has impuned 166 million euros in fines for battery manufacturers. Affected are the three companies Panasonic, Sanyo and Sony as well as Samsung. SDI. According to the European Commission, the manufacturers have negotiated price agreements and, for example, exchanged confidential data on available quantities of lithium-ion batteries for smartphones and laptops. Companies have thus violated EU anti-trust rules. Samsung was lucky: The company was given the fine because Samsung was acting as a witness and the cartel was laid open.
