Belgian government blocks over 400 sites offering counterfeit goods
The Belgian government FPS Economy and Customs have blocked a total of 411 sites because they were selling counterfeit goods. In total, Europol nearly a thousand sites that sold articles nepmerken blocked by a large-scale action.
It is about 411 sites with domain names ending in .com or .eu, including 328 by the FPS Economy and 83 by the Customs blocked. The sites should not be operated in Belgium, claiming the government. The block is part of the international In Our Sites VI action by Europol.
Here are a total of 999 Web sites in European countries blocked. Europol hereby got help from the authorities in countries like France, Luxembourg, Spain and the United Kingdom. It would also via Interpol assistance of Argentina, Chile, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Peru, South Korea and Thailand have been obtained. Europol has been held five times before In Our Sites campaigns but then only helped European countries in blocking the sites offering counterfeit goods.
According to FPS Economy made the sites infringe intellectual property rights of various owners. The websites have been offered counterfeit goods while they occurred as the original brand. Thus they caused unfair competition with legitimate businesses. On some of these websites would now be an information page explaining the action.Viewing:-175
