Belkin announces new sensors WEMO-line automation




Belkin at CES show in Las Vegas several new home automation accessories announced in his WEMO line. Most notable is a water sensor that can bring as Belkin accurate water use in home card.

The so-called WEMO Water with echoTechnology-sensor can be placed on water pipes, and is capable of changes in the water pressure marks. According to Belkin using the sensor water consumption in households by using point accurately mapped, such as the shower in the bathroom or laundry. However, the sensor is not able to close down the water supply in detecting a leak, but it can give an alarm through the WEMO app.

In WEMO line Belkin also comes with new sensors that can be placed on doors and windows. The sensors send a signal when the magnetic field is broken between the two parts, for example when opening a door. Also new is the Wemo Keychain sensor, a compact sensor that can be used, for example, to determine whether a person has or has not left the house. Other new accessories in the WEMO line are an alarm sensor for securing a home and a motion sensor based on infrared with an emergency battery.

To the various home automation accessories to get more energy-efficient Belkin switched to more efficient Zigbee protocol. For this it has a wifi to-ZigBee bridge released. The bridge can be connected to a router.
