Belkin routers lose massive Internet by firmwarebug
Routers of the firm Belkin in the course of Tuesday offline massively hit by probably a bug in the firmware. Belkin has announced that by manually entering the dns servers, the Internet connection is to recover, but the exact cause is not yet clear.
Among other via Twitter rained Tuesday complaints from owners of a Belkin router. Belkin Tech Support in the United States became overloaded by the large number of error messages. Several router models had no working internet connection, but it is not clear how many users are affected.
Belkin initially came with a workaround . The user has to manually enter a static DNS address, such as Google’s DNS servers 184.108.40.206 or 220.127.116.11. Some time later, Belkin said that the problems were resolved without giving further details. Routers that have problems with the connection should work. Again after a reboot
The company also says to look for the exact cause of the problems. To include Reddit is speculation about an error in a recent firmware update. Thus, the affected routers would contact vain attempt to find the address heartbeat.belkin.com, and possibly the DNS daemons in the router firmware crashes or no longer function properly.Viewing:-128
