Best Buy Laptop Guide – February 2016
The first month of the year is over and it means that we have the first major tech trade show of the year behind us. CES proved just as in previous years to have a lot of beautiful things in store, including laptops and convertibles were not beaten.
The main development in this field is the use of OLED screens. OLED screens have a much higher contrast than LCDs and have long been used in smartphones and televisions. At the fair showed Alienware, HP and Lenovo their first laptops with OLED screen. In addition, Samsung surprised with the launch of its first Windows-convertible in two years, which also features an OLED panel. Although OLED displays beautifully reflect the energy consumption in general is a little higher than LCD’s and it will therefore be interesting to see in the upcoming reviews how the manufacturers have addressed that problem.
External Video Cards also performed well at CES; Asus showed the see XG Station 2, which can be coupled to a laptop computer with two USB connectors c. Acer announced the switch 12S, which has a still unannounced ‘Acer Graphics Dock may be available, and Razer showed the Core; an external graphics card enclosure for also at CES announced Stealth Blade laptop.
Of the (purchase) driving forces behind the laptops arrived at CES little news. Intel and Nvidia showed no new chips and AMD indeed announced its new Polaris GPUs, but we guess that it will take until 2017 before it GPUs will appear in laptops.
For this lbbg we keep it at less exotic laptops, the choice for a laptop with the help of visitors to the Laptop Aankoopadvies- forum has been established. The laptops are then tested for the editors.Viewing:-193
