BlackBerry BBM makes video available worldwide in July

Android users of BBM in the United States and Canada can make video calls with the latest update of the messaging service. The beta service is initially only available for Android users but is coming soon to iOS. The rest of the world has to wait to July.

blackberry bbm video At the moment that opens the iOS application, it should also be possible to make video calls between the two platforms. BlackBerry expects that the addition of video calling in July will be available globally.

BlackBerry warns users in the US and Canada that the service initially is not ready to use for everyone because it is the first time they launch BBM Video audience. The first beta users should therefore take more account of lower performance and some features will not work quite smoothly yet.

There is no separate account to use the video function. As a BBM user and another person clicks a BBM app to establish a connection, the app will indicate that both functions, voice and video, are available as the other also includes the beta.

Minimum system requirements: Android 4.4 or iOS 8.
