Already this summer, the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), which is extremely popular with BlackBerry friends on iOS and Android devices may drive the loose.

This bomb was the German CEO Thorsten Heins during BlackBerry-burst events. The Messenger is one of the (perhaps the last remaining) figurehead shields of Canadians and Heins believes this service you must now perform a wider audience. From the Blackberry chat platform that is a multi-platform service.

It is now not so that the iPhone or Android smartphones lack of other alternatives in terms of Messenger. Especially in the beginning it might be difficult for it to BBM, because the first version brings only limited functionality, namely the ability to send messages to individuals and groups to ship. Features such as voicemail, screen sharing and the channels will follow later but.

This summer it will go – provided that Blackberry in the respective app stores of Apple and Google gets the green light. Condition for the free service is then in Android version 4.0 or higher, at Apple you need at least iOS 6 I’m not sure how smart this move is because you robbed here of exclusive features. Let’s wait for the summer and see who can imagine to use the Messenger of Canadians.

Now we have a date for the iOS and Android launch of BBM: On 27 June we will go and this date or whose disclosure is due to T-Mobile in the UK, which is now the proclaimed on Twitter.

Great news – BlackBerry Messenger will be available to download on iOS and Android from June 27th! 🙂 # BBM / TMobileUK / stat …

I can quite understand it still does not, because the Canadians rob a unique selling point here. In addition, users have zeroed in on “their” messenger, whether it be Whatsapp, iMessage, Facebook Messenger or of whatever is to be – it will in any case be difficult to convince them to switch to BBM. And they should actually do it, I’m still skeptical as to whether they will then decide to put on the next BlackBerry smartphone purchase. What do you think? ( via )
